ICEGT-2025 > About the Conference

 “IMPLEMENTING THE ENERGY TRANSITION”

The energy transition is underway, and geotechnical engineering plays a vital role in enabling its successful implementation. The 3rd International Conference on Energy Geotechnics (ICEGT-2025), organised under the auspices of the ISSMGE Technical Committee 308 on Energy Geotechnics, will provide a forum for researchers and engineers from around the world to share their knowledge and expertise on the latest advances in energy geotechnics

ICEGT-2025 will bring together researchers, and practitioners to discuss the challenges and opportunities in energy geotechnics, in the context of the energy transition. The conference will also foster opportunities for networking and collaboration.

Task Forces of the ISSMGE Technical Committee 308 on Energy Geotechnics:

T-1) Deep See Mining

T-2) Unconventional Hydrocarbon. Hydraulic Fracturing

T-3) Energy Geo-Structures and Storage of Thermal Energy in the Ground

T-4) Energy Geo-storage

T-5) High Level Radioactive Waste Disposal

T-6) Carbon Dioxide Geological Storage

T-7) Others geotechnical activities related to the energy sector

T-8) Fundamentals of Geo-Energy

T-9) Low-carbon geotechnical engineering
